CMA CGM is a French container transportation and shipping company, founded in 1978 by Jacques Saadé. It is now the fourth-largest container shipping company in the world, operating in more than 160 countries and offering a wide range of logistics solutions to its clients.
CMA CGM’s director Mathew Wiliams wanted to refresh the company’s old webpage and create a new one that would reflect the company’s global presence and reputation for excellence in the shipping and logistics industry.
He clearly understood that a loud name of the company isn’t enough to get some new customers and expand its influence on the market. They needed not only excellence in logistic services but in digital representation as well.
In such a way, Mathew approached RIVO AGENCY, a leading digital agency, to help the company to create a website that would showcase their services, highlight their strengths, and provide a seamless user experience for their clients.
The design of the CMA CGM website is clean, modern, and without any possible informational overloads. The company is rather old and has a lot to say to the customers, but the CMA’ s marketing team together with our designer selected the only necessary chunks of information and decided to make everything user-friendly as much as possible. They selected the corporate colors to use and decided to focus on usability and functionality. The color scheme is predominantly black, white, and red and reflects the company’s branding and the oceanic nature of their business. The layout is intuitive, with clear navigation and easy-to-find information on any section or services needed to get.
To make everything smooth and pleasant to work with, our designer has considered the most useful and suitable UI/UX approaches and actions that would make every user browse the website with ease and joy.
To create the CMA CGM website, our team used several technologies. The website was meant to be more informative and there shouldn’t be something special in terms of functionality. Instead, the client wanted to focus on the appearance of the website that would say: “We are a big company with excellent services, and we can do exactly what you came here”. To implement this we’ve used ReactJS along with Redux and Material UI, in that way we could do the appearance in the most beautiful way, and Node.js with Express.js as proven and most convenient technologies for the backend side. Our customer wanted to have something custom with the ability to edit and add some new content, but he avoided WordPress as an option, which is why we have created our own admin panel using the technologies mentioned above.
Sure thing we had to put the data somewhere, so for these purposes we have taken MySQL as one of the most popular technologies.
