Story behind

Jøtul is one of the world’s oldest producers of stoves and fireplace inserts. Building on a proud Norwegian heritage, they have combined fine craftsmanship with the art of coping with the cold for 160 years. Norwegian nature, culture, and craft are vital parts of their DNA. Their passion for warmth, combined with craftsmanship rooted in ancient traditions for adding aesthetic qualities to everyday tools, has been an important ingredient in defining the spirit of Jøtul.

User Story

We understood that our customer wants to get a cross-functional website with unlimited purchasing capabilities, a high loading rate, and a detailed product description. It was decided to develop an online platform written in PHP programming language with a user-friendly interface and ultimate design. We have developed a Jotul project within 5 months and met the following requirements:

  • Giving a good showing of Jotul product range – present the company as the leading fireplace and stove equipment supplier;
  • Providing catchable storytelling about Norwegian craftsmanship and exceptional technology that harmonizes with marketing goals, website design, and professional activities of the company.

Design

Every window, section, and button should be well-thought-out. Our main task was to find the right color scheme and make all crucial parts of the Jotul visible and readable. We selected a dark color as the main one. It was not too dark, so all information located within the system was easy to read. We also picked red as a complementary color, so the Jotul logo and all main buttons are of red shade.

Development

We have used an optimal tech stack in the developing process. Jotul website development process/programming was about optimizing the speed and sequence of tasks flow by using modern web development IDEs, Git, integrating cloud servers, etc.

Having all the information about the project, we have created a solution that will help our client improve his business. We have created a design that demonstrates the unique Norwegian atmosphere We showed on the site fireplaces in home interiors. It’s very important to customers. Because they can see the fireplaces in a real interior and choose the one they need. To do this, we used several technologies. For example, we used Drupal as a strong basis, the main features were created with the help of JavaScript and jQuery. For the back-end, we have used PHP and have taken MySQL as a means to store the data.

We build a strong brand story where all the benefits of working with our clients are shown. We have created a multifunctional site that handles high traffic and generates new customers.

Result

We have found a unique quality solution. The site has a user – friendly interface, performs marketing functions, and is characterized by fast loading. Now the website meets all expectations and increases online sales.
